Sacrifices for The One and Only, Mickey Mouse
Yesterday was Labor Day, a day celebrated by students for the three day weekend it annually brings.
For me, it was also my 16th birthday celebration.
Note that my birthday wasn't yesterday. It's still on it's way (September 20th).
Though I have a feeling that very few, if any, of my friends will remember it...again.
Last year, very few really knew me in the group of friends I hang out with. So I won't be upset when they don't remember it. Actually, if ANYONE remembers it, it'd be Stacie. She's the only one who I KNOW has it written down on their calendar, given that I MADE the calendar for her.
But anyways, I celebrated my birthday yesterday. We ate at Olive Garden, as we do every year by request of me, for the Never Ending Pasta Bowl. I ate more than I should've, but it's NEVER ENDING. So that's my excuse. XD (Pretty lame one, eh?)
I didn't open any presents because I wanted to open those ON my actual birthday. I have no idea what I want, so I bet I'll just get money or gift-cards.
But this is what I asked for. Or, at least, said I'd be fine with.
...The point of this blog is to illustrate the birthday-related sacrifices I have made for Disney World.
When I turned 13 years old, I was allowed to have a boy/girl party. I wasn't close to many boys, so it'd be like a girl's slumber party or something. I didn't get to have it though. I knew we'd be going to Disney World the next month, so I told my mom I'd be fine if we didn't have one. So, of course, my birthday came and passed with no party.
Don't get me wrong, I didn't mind, and I STILL don't mind that that happened.
I'm just pointing out that I gave it up for Walt Disney World.
Last year my birthday was on the date of a band show, which lasted all day long. No one knew it was my birthday until it sprinkled around 11:35 PM and I commented that it ALWAYS rains on my birthday. Then everyone around me said, "Oh, it's your birthday?" "Yes." "Happy Birthday!" "Thanks."
This year, I was supposed to have something like a Bowling Birthday Party or something close to that. I told my mom, once again, that I'd be fine if we didn't have a party since I knew we were tight on money and we will barely be able to go to Walt Disney World in June. Well, I do somewhat regret it, but I figure I'll just make up for it at some random Movie Party, if we ever have one.
Actually, I just noticed something while I was typing that last sentence. My birthday is turning out EXACTLY like Chris's 16th B-Day. He posted a blog on a website last year and said that they'd plan the party sometime, but it never happened. Hmm...weird.
Anyways, I figure it'll be made up, though, by the looks of things, it seems that it probably won't be.
At least I got my birthday dinner.
And I still got my birthday to look forward to. Maybe I'll get some good presents from my family, even if it will be just, like, three...tops.
Note: I write this in comparison to Joy's 16th Birthday, two years ago.
Joy went to the movies with a group of about 10 friends, wearing her tiara of course, and was surprised with a white stretch limo afterwards. I went with them because I asked my mom if I could go since I've never been inside a limo before. I kinda wish I didn't. I didn't know anyone there, so I sat in the very back, but at least our cousins were there. Also, it was hot and I couldn't open a window. But oh well. We all rode around for an hour in town, then got dropped off at Ritzy's for cake, ice cream, and presents. I can't remember if there was anything else or not, but you get the idea.
