La Cow-girl et La..GOOFY PIRATE! Day One: Chapter Four

Chapter 4: Tag and Good-night

Excited that we finally had both guns, we hurried out of their house after locking up and ran to my house's front yard (Ginger was in the back). We flipped the switches on the guns and went to hide behind the cars in the driveway and the trees in the yard.

We crept around, searching for the other player and shooting each time we had a chance. Sometimes we would run each other around in circles around one car and then dodge behind another. Each minute it was getting darker and darker. We stopped playing for a few minutes to use the bathroom and grab jackets since it was getting colder. Once we went back outside, my mom told me we could go to the backyard because my dad finally had the campfire close enough to his standards and he was heading inside with Ginger.

So we went out to the back with our guns and made the boundary limits of our game (meaning there was no chance of running into fold-out chairs, the tent, or even the fire). We continued to play for possibly an hour or so, but then we stopped because the laser-tag guns had flashing lights on them that gave away our location to the "enemy" (and we just simply got off-track by pretending to be calling out map directions [Ex. North 5 steps] to one another just so we could meet and give each other a high five.) This was oddly entertaining until later on we found out that we were going south when we thought we were going north and vice-versa.

Eventually, we had to stop so we could cook hot-dogs and make s'mores. (Yummy!) After we were finished with supper (and Stacie finally cooked a satisfactory marshmallow), we went inside the house to prepare ourselves for sleeping in the tent.

After sitting by the fire long enough, and listening to Joy and Michael laughing and giggling in the background, Stacie and I went to bed. For some reason, we found we were exhausted and I don't think the warm, calm fire made us anymore awake than before.

After a while of just sitting in the tent, getting comfortable, and talking nonsense (we were that tired) my mom joined us. We said our good-nights, and we went to sleep.

(NOTE: Sorry that it seems so "choppy" compared to my other narrations of my adventures.)

La Cow-girl et La..GOOFY PIRATE! Day One: Chapter Three

Chapter 3: The Room

Soon enough, the tent was fully loaded with our camp-out equipment (sleeping bags, pillows, lanterns, etc.). My dad told me to go ahead and take care of our neighbors' cats** since it was late enough. Excited to show Stacie their house, I ran inside our house to grab the key for theirs.

As we strolled to their door, we passed their outside cat, Max, who was already heading back inside the garage, knowing what we were there for. When we got inside, Stacie remarked about a few of their family photos, saying, "She looks like she's glowing!" or "Aw, he's cute lil' boy!"

I walked ahead of her and stood in front of the doorway to THE Room.

"Stacie, may I introduce to you the room that you've been waiting for...The Toy Room!"

I stepped aside and turned on the lights to reveal a large room, bigger than my house's master bedroom or living room, filled with toys (and a few exercise machines) that belonged to their "only-child" son.

Before we could invade the enormous room, I had to go upstairs and take care of the pets. As I went through the routine, I found each cat and introduced Stacie to them. Stacie absolutely loved Petsy and laughed at how he was so fat! Simon, of course, was as standoff-ish as usual and she had seen Max on our way into the house.

Finally, we could go back to The Room. I had told Stacie about these Laser-Tag guns I had seen in there and I told her we were going to "borrow" them while the owners were away and "return" them before they got back. I found one gun, but I couldn't find the other. I knew it had to be somewhere because every time I came over there, the two guns were sitting side by side.

So Stacie looked at all of his stuff, occasionally picking up an object and messing with it before putting it back down and I continued my search. Eventually, we ended up playing with his light sabers and other guns before I got so mad that I couldn't find it and forced Stacie to look with me. (Sorry Stacie!)

After countless minutes, we couldn't find them, so I just stood where I was and thought for a moment. The only other place it could be would be his room. Stacie and I went back upstairs to his room and, what do you know, it was in there!

** This is discussed in a separate blog post.

La Cow-girl et La..GOOFY PIRATE! Day One: Chapter Two

Chapter 2: Grinning Idiot

About 5 minutes after they left, Stacie and her mom pulled into the driveway.

Grinning like an idiot, I made my way to the car to help Stacie carry her stuff in. (I never get to have friends over, so I was totally excited!) We said goodbye to her mom and headed inside after making sure Ginger wasn't currently in the house. (My dog believes in "Stranger Danger" and is over protective. You do the math.)

Since my parents were taking so long, I put an adjustable, wire gate up in my bedroom doorway with Stacie in my room and me on the other side (so Ginger wouldn't sit there and just whine at the gate, wanting to play). Stacie and I took turns feeding Ginger Wheat Thins and asking her if she wants to go outside (she does a "dance" when someone says she can go outside).

When my mom and dad got home, they went outside with Ginger while Stacie and I were inside getting things ready for the camp-out later that night.

Okay, so we didn't really do that. We pretended that our hands were little guns and snuck out from behind walls and "shot" each other, shouting "PEW PEW!" with each pull of the "trigger."

La Cow-girl et La..GOOFY PIRATE! Day One: Chapter One

Chapter 1: Anticipation of a "Kidnapping"

For once, I didn't go to Disney World over Fall Break this year. Instead, I plotted to "kidnap" my best friend.

Stacie and I planned for her to come over on Tuesday and leave on Thursday. Yeah, that's right. I'd have to deal with Stacie for TWO days. Crap far, what was I thinking?!

Tuesday finally came and I was so excited! I spent the morning cleaning my brother's room. You see, my brother has a job that requires him to constantly be out of town and so that leaves his room open to anyone that wants to use it and the 52 INCH SCREEN TV.

Anyways, I dusted, wiped down, vacuumed, and "Febreeze"-d his room.

About 3-4 hours later, I was finished (he never cleans his room and I went all out) and went to go take a shower. By the time I got out, my mom was home and we headed outside to put up the tent.

Yes, I said "tent." We, being the dorks we are, were planning on camping in our backyard.

She and I worked together and put up the tent by ourselves.

And believe me, we have gotten pretty good at putting it up by now.

After we got it up, my mom and dad had to run somewhere and pick up a truck, leaving me home alone with our dog, Ginger, but not for long...

Neighbor's Cats

In my soon-to-cone blogs about Fall Break, I mention that I have to take care of my neighbor's cats. Here's why:

When my neighbors go on vacation, they ask my dad if we can take care of their pets while they're gone. Usually we can and the only time we can't is when we're on vacation ourselves.
So anyways, my sister and I (though its becoming just "I") go over to their house to take care of their pets in the morning (unless its a school day, my dad does it then) and again at night.

They have three cats. One is an outside cat and his name is Max. We just let him in and out of the garage and feed him 1/3 of a can of Fancy Feast on each trip there.
Another cat is Petsy. Petsy is a large cat who would look like the usual household cat if they didn't feed him so much. We just make sure he has food, even if he doesn't need it.
The third cat is Simon. Simon is a very stand off-ish and doesn't like to be bothered, although, he is cute. He's not huge like Petsy because he has some self control, but he is fluffy because of his fur. We just feed him, too.

Next would be the fish. I'm not sure how many they have because either one is hiding, or they just bought a new fish every time I go over there. We just feed them a pinch of food and turn on/off their light.

Then there's Franklin. Franklin is a turtle who freezes every time he sees someone. We just turn on/off his light. The light, however, is tricky. Its one of those lights where the part that covers the bulb is only on top, not on bottom and hangs over something. The first time I took care of the light I didn't see that the switch was next to the bulb and said covering because it was shorter than me. I thought the height adjustment knob was the switch and so I turned it and the light pole got shorter and slammed down onto Franklin's tank.

You know how people say to kids, "Don't tap on the fish tanks! Its louder for them than it is for you!" Well imagine that, except the kid is pounding on the tank. THAT'S how loud it was.
Poor Franklin!

Blue Lunch

Yesterday was the first time I had eaten lunch with Stacie on Blue Days. I have study hall 2nd period and I'm already in the library, so I just go ahead and eat in there instead of waiting another hour.

During 1st and 2nd, we took the PSAT so I couldn't eat at my usual time.
So I waited for my class's designated lunch time to eat.

I felt like I was going to be sick from being so hungry. I couldn't believe how much I depended on eating during 2nd period! And worse, our classroom is right next to the lunchroom, so I could easily smell the food, which made me even hungrier!
When it was finally time for lunch, I practically dashed out the door to get to the library so I could eat. That morning, I had packed a french-bread pizza in my lunchbox, which I was very thankful for because they usually fill me up.

So no, I didn't starve. Well, I wouldn't anyways...I have enough "stored fat" in me that I wouldn't mind my body feeding on! ;D

Fun Flavor in the Library

In the Library,

sat me and my first-mate.

Another adventure we had,

and, of course, it was great!

~~*~~

We sat in the back room

as she ate a PB&J.

Then, in walked Alyssa,

smiling and ready to play!

Excited, Stacie and I hurried

to make our way out.

We glanced ahead at Alyssa,

and saw her hopping about!

Stacie, feeling generous,

shared with us: a small bag of Skittles.

The last ones, though, she WOLFED down,

and we all had the giggles.

A few minutes later,

we started to feel funny inside.

Suddenly, it seemed the library rules

we could not abide.

Joking and giggling

and fits of laughter...

We each took turns

of who to chase after!

Suddenly, the lunch bell rang

and our fun ended with a frown.

So we all walked back to class

sad, and with our heads hanging down.
